Photovoltaic modules are produced mainly outside Europe (97%), and Poland is one of the leaders in the European Union in terms of their production.

Currently, we are more and more aware of the need to protect the environment and the changes taking place in it. While observing the developing technology, you can more and more often see solutions that do not have a negative impact on the planet. One of the essential trends in the energy sector is obtaining energy from renewable sources, including photovoltaics.

The phenomenon of photovoltaics

Every year, the production of energy from solar radiation is becoming more and more popular. Photovoltaic modules are produced mainly outside Europe (97%), and Poland is one of the leaders in the European Union in terms of their production. The photovoltaic market in Poland is developing very dynamically, and solar energy ranks third in terms of domestic renewable energy sources.

The use of photovoltaics

According to the latest data provided by Statistics Poland, the year 2019 brought a rapid increase in electricity production from photovoltaic cells. Over the past few years, we can observe a significant difference in the use of photovoltaics. In 2019, its use was 136.5% higher than in 2018 and over 12 times higher, considering the data from 2015. From year to year, we can see a growing interest in modern solutions available in this technology area.

The photovoltaics can be seen used in many fields, including:

  • single-family houses and housing estates (lighting, electricity generation, water heating),
  • farms,
  • recreational plots,
  • company and industrial facilities (warehouses, production halls),
  • public institutions,
  • sports stadiums.

Solar energy is also used to power small devices such as calculators, watches, traffic signals, etc.

Producers of photovoltaics

According to the ranking provided by Forbes (Poland), in 2021, the most renowned producers of photovoltaics are:

  • Longi Solar (Longi Solar LR4-72HPH-450M, Longi Solar LR4-60HPH-375M, Longi Solar LR4-60HPB-360M Full Black),
  • Hyundai (Hyundai HiE-S400VG-400 Wp (BFR),
  • Risen Energy (Risen RSM150-8-505M),
  • Jinko Solar (Jinko JKM530M-72HL4-V),
  • JA Solar (JA Solar JAM60S17-325/MR).

When choosing photovoltaics, it is worth paying particular attention to parameters such as power, efficiency, electrical efficiency, certificate of mechanical resistance and safety.

Program for co-financing photovoltaic micro-installations

„My Electricity” is a Polish program aimed at supporting the segment of photovoltaic micro-installations, and its goal is to increase energy production from photovoltaic micro-installations in Poland. According to the reported data, 230,923 subsidies for PV installation projects were paid, and thanks to this program, it was possible to reduce carbon dioxide by 1,057,784,800 kg per year.

The photovoltaic market – the industry of the future

Photovoltaics gives hope to eliminate factors that have a negative impact on our lives. Investing in such solutions brings benefits in many areas of everyday life, e.g., it is a source of savings in the long term and a source of benefits both for the environment and the health of society. Despite the information on the change in the regulations regarding photovoltaics, it is worth being an aware consumer and investing in renewable energy solutions.
